This course is designed for all expecting moms who desire to understand and prepare for the changes our bodies undergo in labor, birth and postpartum. It’s created for the mom who wants to be equipped with resources to make decisions that feel best. This course covers unmedicated vaginal birth, birth with epidurals and cesarean birth.
We believe the sweet spot is between 32-36 weeks. The material covered in the course is designed to be applied as you head into Week 36. Starting earlier allows you to take your time working through the modules, bring questions and conversations to your provider before birth, and complete the course prior to labor.
Mae Hughes is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, a pelvic floor specialist, and a mom herself. She is passionate about helping women understand how their pelvic floor works in labor and delivery so that they can reduce tearing and optimize healing. Read more about Mae here.
Skyler Jacobs is a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) with a Master’s of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Nurse Midwifery. With both RN and doula experience, she strongly believes that every woman deserves an empowering approach to understanding her body and her birth. Read more about Skyler here.
Yes. Our mission is to present you the options and the research, then let you make the choice you believe is best. We also equip you with the tools to have conversations with your own providers and care team during the days leading up to your labor and during your birth.
We provide multi-disciplinary and unbiased options for women to make decisions that are best for them regardless of the birth setting. Rather than providing you with only the hospital’s policy, we supply you with endless options for things like pain management, pushing, breathing, inductions, etc, so that you can choose the path that most aligns with your desires for birth.
The course is made up of 12 modules each further broken down into lessons that are digestible in their content and time requirement. Each module includes downloadable cheat sheets, PDF’s, and a workbook you and your support person can work through during the course.

Your access to the course is lifetime. This means you can access the modules (and all additional materials) to prepare for this labor and any others in the future!
We highly encourage your support person to watch alongside you — we even have modules specifically designed with them in mind.
Yes! Even if you’ve delivered a child before, this course can help you prepare your body for an optimized birthing experience. And since you’ll have lifetime access, you can use these materials for any future births, too.
We think this is the perfect complement to in-person labor prep with a pelvic floor PT. With the hands-on guidance of your therapist, and the virtual support of this course, you feel even more confident as you give birth. Plus, you’ll have lifetime access to the course, so you can return to the education and exercises if you need them again in the future.
Mae is not currently taking new in-person clients in Nashville, but she offers a variety of courses to help you through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum recovery. If you’re looking for a local pelvic floor PT, you can check the directory here.
Skyler is accepting new patients at Modern OBGYN in north Atlanta and offers educational resources on her website here.
